| My alternator is in great shape -- was rebuilt about 1.5 years ago. My power steering high pressure hose still isn't leaking but I believe it's the same one that came from the Nissan factory! Eventually I'm expecting the crimp fitting up near the power steering pump to fail and spray nasty fluid around the engine bay and on the alternator. Decide to add a little insurance to my hose. Bought some engine rated 1.25 inch diameter split wire loom - needed 2ft for this application:
Applied it over the power steering hose from the bottom of the car, notice the split is facing AWAY from the alternator:

View from bottom of the car -- used some zip ties to make sure it stays in-place:
Since I check all my fluids each time I drive the car -- figuring the wire loom will buy me a little time should the hi pressure hose spring a leak. This was a pretty easy install -- took maybe 30 minutes or so. I might add another zip tie up by the pump if I can get my hands in there to do it? Thought others might be interested in this idea?
